Our History

Introduction

 

SBI is Established

SBI contracts story began over 25 years ago, initially primarily a soft furnishings retailer. With a strong customer focus and affinity of detail and precision the company soon expanded into the commercial sector, bringing its expertise and honed skills to play in large scale project while still maintaining that personal family run business ethos that puts the customer and end user at the centre of everything they do.

 
 

1993 - 1997

 

15 Years Later

1993 β€“ SBI contracts starts its story under its then name Interior Choices in Derry
1995 β€“ SBI began to branch out into commercial soft furnishings projects including show houses, hotels, health care market.
1999 β€“ SBI contracts relocates retail premises to Letterkenny co. Donegal, while retaining contract offices and studio in Derry

2000 - 2010

 

We’re expanding again!

2000 β€“ The Company builds large scale manufacturing facilities bringing Blind manufacture, curtains making and upholstery to one specially designed facility
2004 β€“ SBI contracts increases atomisation in the manufacturing facility with cutting edge machinery that brings greater precision and economises of scale to there offering
2006– Sheena Quigley joins the team. As an Interior designer and business graduate, Sheena brought a new design perspective to the business.
2010 β€“ SBI contracts expands its healthcare sector product portfolio to include anti-microbial blind and curtain fabric to aid in infection control.

 
 

 

2012 - 2017

 

2012 β€“ see the expansion and development of our motorised offering – including motorised window blinds, roof blinds and curtain tracking
2014– Brian Quigley joins the SBI Team. As Contracts Manager Brian brings his skills of Managing large scale capital construction projects in the uk to give the company a in-depth understanding of the end user.
2016 & 2017 β€“ SBI contracts supplies some of the largest builds in Ireland including 1 Microsoft place, Kevin street guards station, as well as international hotel brands including Radisson Blu and Maldron.

Expansion, developments & smart technology!

With over 25 great years behind us, SBI contracts is looking to future with new product offerings on the horizon and a focus on smart technologies to bring even better solutions to our consumer, SBI contracts will be at the forefront of all window shading solutions, as well as building and wall protection. There are immediate plans to expand our manufacturing facilities at a new green field site, to bring even better performance and enhanced capabilities.
